How Much Should Your Dog Sleep? How Much Sleep Is Too Much?

Hi Readers,

Dog lovers often ask me how much sleep a dog should get. Many wonder if their dog is sleeping too much.

The amount of time a dog sleeps varies a lot. The amount of time spent napping varies from dog to dog, depending on the dog's age and personality. Counting little naps and longer snoozes, most dogs sleep about fourteen hours a day.

There are breeds that are known to sleep more, too. To find out more, go to:

Here is a quiz:

What animals sleep 3 to 4 hours a day?

What animals sleep 20 hours a day?

Want to know the answers? Go to:

You'll find the answer in the second paragraph.

Dogs sleep more than people, but they wake more frequently than we do.

Here is another good question - do dogs dream?

TODAY'S PET TIP

Choosing Clippers

Many pet owners take their dog to a professional groomer and others try to clip and maintain their dog's hair coat themselves.

If you are looking for a good pair of clippers, choose one that is durable.

  1. Just like us humans, our fur babies also need a lot of sleep to grow and repair muscles. It also helps their senses to develop further. You can learn additional information from this link that I found, which answers why dogs sleep so much: http://dogsaholic.com/training/why-do-dogs-sleep-so-much.html
