Dogs LOVE Peanut Butter - Does Yours?

Hi Readers,

Most dogs LOVE peanut butter. That's why veterinary technicians use it to "hide" pills inside - it's a great way to get your dog to take his medicine. They lap up the peanut butter with a pill inside.

So today I thought I'd pass on a recipe for a yummy peanut butter dog treat.

Check out this recipe: Go to: http://www.petplace.com/do-you-have-a-good-recipe-for-canine-peanut-butter-treats

If YOU like peanut butter - I also have a recipe for you! Have you ever tired this human treat called Puppy Chow? This is a favorite amongst our staff. Go to: http://www.petplace.com/people-snacks-puppy-chow-recipe

I hope you enjoy these.

Until next time,

Dr. Jon

P.S. Have you seen this whacky toy?  It's called the Humunga Tongue and it is really a hoot! Dogs love it, and it's a riot to watch them play with it.  Humunga Tongue has a ball on one end and a long cartoon tongue on the other. So when your dog puts the ball in his mouth, well... you get the picture! This toy comes in 3 fun sizes. To learn more, go to:  http://www.petproductadvisor.com/humunga-tongue.aspx

Do Dog Whistles Work? What's the Deal?

Hi Readers,

Never underestimate the power of TV - especially a crazy TV commercial.

Some TV commercials are so funny or memorable that they're all people talk about the next day - at work, at school, everywhere.  And after seeing this funny TV commercial, people were talking about it at their veterinarian's office!

It all started with that goofy Geico commercial.  Have you seen it on TV or heard it on the radio? It's about dog whistles.  The guy asks, "Do dog whistles work?"  Then someone tries blowing a dog whistle. You hear him blowing air into the whistle and ... nothing happens. Then you hear someone blowing air into the whistle again and dogs start barking.  After watching this commercial, a client's kid asked me if dog whistles really work or not and what's the deal.

Well, if you'd like to know more about dog whistles and whether or not they work, I have just the article for you. Go to: http://www.petplace.com/do-dog-whistles-work/page1.aspx

Here's another good question. Do you know why dogs chase cars? I also have that answer. Go to: http://www.petplace.com/why-do-dogs-chase-cars/page1.aspx

Enjoy - and I hope you learned a little more about dogs and their behavior.

Until next time,

Dr. Jon

TODAY'S PET TIP

What to Do if You Find a Dog

Many people are reluctant to take a found dog to the humane society or local animal shelter when found for fear the dog won't be reunited with its owner and be euthanized.

What else can you do?
