World's Record - Dog with Most Tennis Balls in Mouth

Hi Readers,

It is interesting to look at world records, not just to see who set it but to see what the actual record is for. For example, I would have never have thought someone would actually create this record - The Most Tennis Balls a Dog Can Get in His Mouth!

2885711024

Geeze ... who would ever think to make that into a record?

Well they did!

Do you know the answer? Here it is...

Most Tennis Balls in Mouth - The world record for the most tennis balls held in the mouth by a dog at one time is five. Augie, a golden retriever owned by the Miller family in Dallas, Texas, USA, successfully gathered and held all five regulation-sized tennis balls on July 6, 2003.

Wow! That is amazing!

Dogs are active, and active dogs need great nutrition. Make sure you are feeding your dog a premium food such as
Eukanuba with Prebiotics.

Do you think your dog holds a record for something? Send us some of your fun photos - we'd love to see them!

Until next time,

Dr. Jon

P.S.
Prebiotics have demonstrated positive effects on mineral absorption including calcium, immune system function and intestinal regularity. In humans, prebiotics have even demonstrated a reduction in the risk for colon cancer and irritable bowel disorders such as Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

P.P.S. Eukanuba is offering a
$5.00 coupon to try their foods. To learn more about prebiotics in dog foods or to try a Eukanuba dog food, just go to: http://www.eukanuba.com/EukGlobal/US/en/jsp/hercules/HerculesLanding.jsp

Choosing the Correct Water Bowl Size

What size water bowl should you buy?

Ideally, you should change your pet's water every day and wash out the bowl. You should run the bowl through a thorough was once weekly. After washing, make sure you rinse it well removing all traces of soap and cleaners.

As a rule of thumb, you pets bowl should hold enough water for him to drink for at least 24 hours, preferably 36 or 48 hours.

How much does a dog drink? As a general rule, dogs drink 20 to 40 ml of water per pound of body weight per day. This comes out to about 3 to 4 cups of water for a 20 pound dog.

So the idea bowl for a 20 pound dog would be 4 to 8 cups. Four cups is almost a liter so that is a big bowl! You may even want to consider a large bowel in the summer when environmental conditions are hot and humid.

As an alternative to one big bowl, you can also consider placing a couple bowls around your home.
